2006-03-24 - 4:43 p.m. Okay, okay, I've been lax in my blogging duties! Mea culpa, mea culpa, mea maxima culpa! Not much really is happening. The Evil Sidekick is now four months old, nearly sixteen pounds, and trying to stand up. He can't even sit up, but he loves to be held upright on his feet. He's also teething, which involves lots of finger-eating and drooling. The boy is an incredible flirt; at the parent-teacher conferences, he had three different women cooing over him. I'm going to have to watch that boy later. The Professor made up a knock-knock joke: "Knock knock." "Who's there?" "Banana." "Banana who? "(to the tune of 'Mahna Mahna')Banana bread, do do de do do." I'm very proud of her; I wasn't making up knock-knock jokes until I was five. Also, she is the only kid in preschool who knows what 'borborygmus" is. (It's tummy rumbles.) My Chevy has now achieved hooptie status: the driver's side door handle is broken, so I have to go through the passenger side door to open the door. It's probably not worth fixing, but it is inconvenient. My mom is going to Greece in May, for a month. Athens, Mykonos, the whole deal. Lucky so-and-so. Any ideas what I should ask for as a souvenir? Lucia? The fanfic is turning out better than I thought it would. It's also longer than I thought it would be, and more complex. Best of all, I actually like what I'm writing. How ironic; I try to write fiction out of my own head, and it sucks. I write fanfiction, using somebody else's milieus and characters, and it's great. I also find that I'm something of an anomaly; the majority of the fanfiction writers I've come across are teenagers, and overwhelmingly female. Reading the forums is like eavesdropping on a slumber party at times. Not much else here. Oh, by the way, I have found the perfect coffee. This stuff is imported directly from Ethiopia and hand-roasted over an open fire. Best of all, the owner is a friend of the family so your money won't go to some big multinational corporation (*cough*Starbucks!*cough*). Slide on over to www.tanacoffee.com and show Sine some love. This stuff is smooth black dynamite, and reasonably priced as compared to Gloria Jean's or something like that. Later!
