2003-10-31 - 2:21 p.m. Just something random and disjointed here. The Professor is teething again (molars this time), and I haven't had a good night's sleep in a while. I'm learning a lot about kid's movies these days. One of the great things about taking a sick day is that you can feel justified in plunking yourself in front of the TV for hours on end. Check out the remake of "Flubber" that Robin Williams did a few years back. Yeah, not a great film, but quite good, and certainly well within the Disney tradition. But check out the heavies, Smith and Wesson. They're played by Clancy Brown and Ted Levine. Clancy Brown… and Ted Levine. Otherwise known as The Kurgan from "Highlander" and Buffalo Bill/Jame Gumb from "Silence of the Lambs". I don't know if the casting was deliberate, or a happy accident, but it added a whole new dimension to the film. I kept expecting to see broadswords and skin lotion. The Professor's first birthday is coming up! November 5th, y'all! Pig roast at Grampa's house! (Yeah right; more like little nibbly stuff and sheet cake. Hmmm… tortilla española, some dips, a little pasta salad, maybe some marinated olives, and a great big nasty chonklit cake for my girl… ain't nothin' but a party, y'all!)
